KRAKS BLÅ BOG
- the authoritative biography -
a work-in-progress (2001 - ...)
Kraks Blå Bog (Kraks Blue Book) is our "Whos who", Denmarks Hall of Fame. In this voluminous blue book each of the most important living Danish persons are presented with a short biography, each of them being the authoritative biography, the true story. Each year an updated version of the book is published, and this makes Kraks Blå Book a grand work-in-progress.
In 2001 Claus Beck-Nielsen was included in this book of the books as "Beck-Nielsen, Claus". From being just anybody his formless Everyman-life was suddenly turned into a story, an authoritative life-story. But shortly after, in the end of that very same year Claus Beck-Nielsen disappeared and was declared dead.
Nevertheless and against all laws of nature the editorial board of Kraks Blå Bog decided
to go on telling the story of Claus Beck-Nielsen. And thereby, for the first time in Danish history, they have regarded a Dane as immortal. Not even Hans Christian Andersen or Søren Kierkegaard have been given an authoritative biography that has continued beyond their death.
"Beck-Nielsen, Claus" is a cooperation between Das Beckwerk and Kraks Blå Bog and can be found in (Danish only):
