ANDY WARHOL
- the 20th Century Ghost -
(1994-1998)
In the autumn of 1994 Claus Beck-Nielsen moved to Hannover in Germany to become Andy Warhol in exile. Several nights a week he had his own show in the famous "Eisfabrik" theatre, a 2 hours long talk show, where he hosted the stars of his time: Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, Muhammad Ali, Salvador Dali, John F. Kennedy and the wannabe president Richard Nixon. As "the 20th Century Ghost" he danced, played an old Velvet Underground hit, did his work-out and lived the story of his life.
The director of the show was the Swiss stage director Rolf Heim, who also cut the short version of the show that was sent on tour in Norway, Finland and Denmark, 1995-1998.
